Auction Bikes – 2013

Yes, it’s back the wonderful Sustainable Living Festival is on again, and we’ll be at Prince’s Wharf No. 1 on the 9th and 10th of November.

So that means we’ll be having the once a year Hobart Bike Kitchen bikes auction where you get the chance to purchase a quality bike for a great price.

It’s not a win-win, it’s a win-win-win as you get a great bike, the world is a better place with one more happy, healthy, low-emmission bike rider and Hobart Bike Kitchen raises the money which keeps us open throughout the year.

This year you’re going to get two chances to grab an auction bike as we’ll be having a short sharp auction session both days.

The auction has been scheduled for 12.15 on Sat the 9th and 11.45 on Sun the 10th. Both on the forecourt festival stage.

To help you out if you can’t be sure of being on site at the right time we’re happy to take your bids beforehand. You can email us or come by the HBK marquee on the Saturday or Sunday and have a good look at the bikes and leave your bid with us then.

So here’s a list of the bikes.

Auction Day 1 – 9th November 12:15

Whether busting down a dirt path or cruising to class, the 24” Fuse delivers versatility and value. The 24-inch wheels make quick work of rough terrain, and with disc brakes and a tuneable suspension fork trail runs are no obstacle. Combining practicality of an unbreakable steel frame  for hassle-free transition for the growing enthusiast – Sram x-5 series 8 speed hub is ready for downhill and the climb back up. This bike is in top condition and will be a best buy on the day!

Avanti Discovery city bike. A large frame for a rider about 175-185cm tall, the Avanti is a quality bike for round town use in excellent condition. It is 21 speed (3 X 7), takes 700C wheels with suspension fork & seatpost.

Giant CRX city pro single speed road bike. This is a quality machine perfect for fast rides up the bike track or to and from work/uni. Quality wheels, carbon seatpost and forks and no gears to worry about. Frame size is about 56cm, so perfect for a rider 170-182cm tall.

Retro Gordonson men’s and women’s matching bikes. Built at a time when wearing matching cardigans demonstrated a couples love for one another, these 2 matching bikes will be perfect for sharing the freedom that cycling offers.

Auction Day 2 – 10th November 11:45

Shogun Alpine GT touring bike. These retro steel frames with cantilever brake bosses and plenty of mounts for mudguards/racks are very popular for touring and loaded commuting. Gearing is 21 speed with grip twist shifters and retro ½ shift plus granny chainrings. Bike also comes with a nice large handlebar bag. Suitable for a small rider, with a 53cm seat tube and 56cm top tube.

Avanti Axis, 24 speed alloy frame complete with clipless pedals (and flats), adjustable headstem, bike computer, seatpost rack and bag and even Puma sunglasses!  A great bike package to get you out and about whether its for a weekend cruise or the daily commute.  Its barely been used and in great running order so should see someone score an absolute bargain of a machine!

Norco Forza road bike. A quality aluminium road bike in very good condition. This is a 16 speed (2 X 8) roadie with indexed downtube shifters, adjustable stem and Shimano components. Suitable for a rider 170-185cm tall.

Giant OCR 1 aluminium road bike with carbon forks. This is a 27 speed (3 X 9) shimano 105 equipped road bike with a tiny frame suitable for a small adult or child. Perfect for long road rides, hill climbing or triathlons.

 

Our final auction is something you’re not going to get the chance to pickup everyday.
